Who we are

fare.deals is operated by [Legal Entity Name] ("we", "us"). We run two products on this domain: the fare.deals marketplace (property, skilled trades, item rentals, and community ads) and Ledgers, a separate accounts tool for residential societies at ledgers.fare.deals. This policy covers both.

What we collect

• Account details: name, phone number, email, and basic profile information from Google if you sign in with Google.
• Content you submit: listing, worker-profile and ad details, photos and documents you upload, messages sent through enquiry forms, and — for Ledgers — the society, resident, billing and receipt records a committee enters.
• Identity verification data: where a feature requires it (for example, Aadhaar-based KYC for certain provider or worker accounts), we collect only what our verification vendor needs to confirm your identity, and we store the verification result rather than the underlying document wherever the vendor allows it.
• Usage data: pages visited, searches performed, and enquiries sent, used to operate and improve the platform.
• Payment information: handled directly by our payment processor (Razorpay) — we never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves.

How we use it

We use your data to operate the marketplace and Ledgers — matching enquiries to listings, verifying accounts, generating rent and maintenance invoices, sending transactional notifications, and improving search relevance. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

AI features

Some features — writing a listing description, translating a listing into Hindi, and answering a plain-language search query — are powered by Google's Gemini AI models. The content involved (a listing's own details, or your search text) is sent to Google for processing and is not used by Google to train models outside that request, per Google's API terms at the time of writing. We do not send your account credentials or payment details to any AI model.

Who we share it with

We share data with the service providers that make the platform work, and with no one else:

• Amazon Web Services (S3) — stores listing photos, documents, and signed contracts.
• Google — sign-in (OAuth), maps and locality data, and the Gemini AI features above.
• Razorpay — processes subscription and other payments.
• MSG91 — delivers the SMS one-time codes used for phone verification.
• Our KYC verification vendor — confirms Aadhaar-based identity for the accounts that require it.

Each of these providers processes data on our behalf, under their own security and data-handling terms — we do not hand data to anyone for their own independent use.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies: to keep you signed in, to protect forms against forgery (CSRF), and to remember your city and category preference across the site. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Retention & deletion

You can request account deletion at any time. When you do, we anonymize your profile and permanently disable that login. A small number of records — such as signed contracts, invoices, and records tied to an active or recently-closed dispute — are retained for a limited period where the law, an ongoing agreement, or dispute resolution requires it, and are erased automatically once that period ends.

Your rights under the DPDP Act

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us via the details on our Contact page.

Children's data

fare.deals is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

Security

Access to your data is controlled at the database level, not just in the application — different account types can only see the records they are actually entitled to, and every administrative action is logged. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users if we become aware of a breach affecting their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the platform.
